A tragic medical emergency struck a truck driver from Castiglione delle Stiviere, Enrico Bignotti, 50 years old, while he was on board the ferry to Corfu. The incident occurred on December 26 during the crossing from Brindisi to the Greek island. The man’s body was found lifeless in the cabin of his truck by the crew of the ferry Florencia, who immediately notified the captain.
Bignotti’s family, originally from Desenzano and who had recently celebrated his fifty-seventh birthday, is going through a difficult time. His brother Ezio shared the sad news communicated by the captain to his sister-in-law: “We should be able to embrace our dear one again on January 1,” he stated, highlighting the bureaucratic complications necessary to bring the body back to Italy. It appears that a heart attack was the cause of death while the truck driver was traveling to Greece for work purposes.
