Feralpi Group was recently awarded in the seventh edition of the **Best Managed Companies Award**, a recognition that celebrates Italian entrepreneurial excellence. The event, held in Lonato del Garda on October 10, 2024, is promoted by Deloitte Private in collaboration with ELITE-Euronext Group and Piccola Industria Confindustria, with methodological support from the **ALTIS Graduate School of Sustainable Management** at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart.
## Evaluation Criteria
For the assignment of this prestigious award, an independent jury examined six key factors: **Strategy**, **Skills and Innovation**, **Commitment and Corporate Culture**, **Governance and Performance Measurement**, **Corporate Social Responsibility**, and **Internationalization and Supply Chain**. These criteria were used to identify the companies that stand out in the Italian entrepreneurial landscape for 2024.
## Comments from Feralpi Group Representatives
Receiving the award on behalf of Feralpi Group were Isabella Manfredi, Chief Sustainability and Communications Officer, and Domenico Luongo, Administrative Director. Manfredi emphasized the significance of the recognition, stating: “An award is always a positive thing, but this one is doubly so for a capital-intensive and energy-consuming company like Feralpi.” She also highlighted the company’s commitment to **decarbonization** and reducing environmental impacts through the integration of the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) strategy into the business plan.
“The Deloitte ‘Best Managed Companies’ award not only confirms that we have effectively interpreted a commitment driven by solid governance,” Manfredi added. This recognition also serves as an impetus to continue engaging the supply chain with structured action plans, aiming for defined ESG goals for 2030.
## Characteristics of Best Managed Companies
Best Managed Companies (BMC) are characterized by their use of structured methodologies in developing their business strategies. These companies adopt well-defined governance systems and utilize predefined metrics to measure performance. Effective communication of achieved results occurs both internally and externally.
Thanks to their solid corporate governance, these firms are able to continuously improve their performance by focusing on relationships with customers, suppliers, and local communities. Moreover, they stand out for their innovation and efficiency, establishing strategic partnerships and nurturing internal talent. BMCs also demonstrate social responsibility through concrete initiatives aimed at social, environmental, and economic sustainability.
Finally, they promote a shared corporate culture by rewarding virtuous behaviors and planning for generational transitions; many of these companies generate a significant portion of their revenue from foreign markets due to established international relationships.
