The 22nd Garda Trentino Half Marathon, held on November 10, saw the participation of 5,287 athletes from 79 nations, with a strong female representation. The Burundian athlete Louis Intunzinzi triumphed in the men’s race, completing the 21 kilometers in 1h02’31”, just six seconds shy of his personal best. Intunzinzi took the lead in the race as early as the fifth kilometer, marking the third consecutive victory for Burundi in this event. Following him were Kenyan Dickson Simba Nyakundi and fellow Burundian Leonce Bukuru.
In the women’s category, the victory went to Belarusian Marina Arzamasova, who finished with a time of 1h20’49”, maintaining a solid margin over German runner Amelie Hofbauer, who came in second, 46 seconds behind. The event also featured two additional distances: the 10k and the fun run, Run4Fun, at 5 kilometers, making it a significant sporting success under favorable weather conditions. The organizers expressed satisfaction with the turnout and are considering potential changes for future editions.
