On Friday, April 12th, at the Casa della Cultura in Soiano, the ASD Garda Karate Team organized an evening entitled “From sport to self-esteem”. The speaker for the evening was Professor Marcello Riccioni, an art teacher and author of art essays and studies on the world of education.
During the meeting, Professor Riccioni addressed the topic of the journey that young people go through in their growth as athletes and as individuals. Several topics were discussed, including self-esteem, sports, autonomy, growth, and emotions. Professor Riccioni provided numerous points for reflection that certainly did not go unnoticed.
It was encouraging to hear someone like him emphasize the importance of practicing sports in a healthy and constructive way. It is essential for athletes to feel stimulated in their sports environment, rather than solely focusing on competition and achieving results. Only in this way can they fully develop their neural connections.
Parents play a fundamental role in their children’s lives, but they should not be blamed: everyone is doing their best. It is important for parents to commit to creating an environment conducive to their children’s growth.
This evening was a valuable opportunity for parents, educators, and adults in general to grow. The initiative was met with great success and enthusiasm among the participants.
