After two unsuccessful auctions, the Municipality of Gardone Riviera has decided to put the former Casino back up for concession. This time, however, the entire property will be offered to the winner of the tender. The initiative is part of a broader plan to enhance and redevelop the lakefront area.
The tender was published last Friday and stipulates that the winning company must reopen the beach adjacent to the former Casino by June 7th, providing the usual services such as bathrooms, showers, and cabins. However, the bar will not be included in the temporary management. Mayor Andrea Cipani emphasized that this situation is only temporary and that everything will return to normal by the summer of 2025.
The former Casino property also includes the spaces on the second floor currently occupied by the headquarters of the Garda Lombardia Tourist Consortium. The decision to put the entire building up for concession was made after two unsuccessful tenders last year for the Casino restaurant.
It remains to be seen what the response will be from companies interested in the property concession. It will be crucial for the presented project to be economically sustainable and to ensure efficient and high-quality management of the entire complex.
