This morning, April 12th, Gargnano kicked off the Giardini d’Agrumi festival, an event dedicated to promoting lemon groves and citrus fruits, which will run until tomorrow. During this event, organized by the agricultural cooperative Terre & Sapori in collaboration with the Municipality of Gargnano, the Parish of San Martino, the Pro Loco, and Slow Food, 25 lemon groves in the village will be open to the public free of charge. This marks the ninth edition of the initiative, which aims to promote a historical agricultural tradition that remains vibrant thanks to the dedication of local enthusiasts.
The organizers emphasize the importance of showcasing the lemon groves as a unique cultural and natural heritage. Through events like Giardini d’Agrumi, they hope to bring citrus fruits back to the forefront of the high Garda landscape and stimulate renewed interest in these historic crops. The festival thus represents not only an opportunity to visit these fascinating sites but also a means to support and preserve a valuable agricultural tradition.
