Giordano Bruno Guerri, president of the Vittoriale degli Italiani, has been awarded the Elsa Morante Ragazzi 2024 Prize in the history category.
The winning book
Guerri received the prize for his book “Storia del mondo, dal big bang a oggi” (History of the World, from the Big Bang to Today), published in 2023 by La Nave di Teseo publishing house.
The winners of the other categories
The jury also selected two other winning books. “Il signor conchiglia” (Mr. Shell) by Gianluca Caporaso was awarded in the prose and poetry section, while “Love harder, le ragazze iraniane camminano davanti a noi” (Love Harder, Iranian Girls Walk Ahead of Us) by Barbara Stefanelli won the prize in the social section.
International participation
Around ten thousand young people from all over the world had the opportunity to read the three competing books. Among the represented countries are Albania, France, the United States, and Russia. The young people will also have the chance to vote for their favorite book for the assignment of the Elsa Morante Scuole Prize.
Award ceremony
The award ceremony will take place on May 15th at 10:00 am at the Auditorium Domenico Scarlatti of Rai in Naples, located at Via Guglielmo Marconi 5.
