A tragic road accident occurred this morning, Monday, January 6, in Montichiari, where a head-on collision resulted in the death of a 45-year-old woman of Ukrainian descent. The incident took place around 11:30 AM on Provincial Road 236, when the victim’s vehicle collided head-on with a tanker truck coming from the opposite lane. A 13-year-old boy was seriously injured and is currently hospitalized in critical condition at the Civil Hospital of Brescia, thanks to the prompt intervention of the Red Cross medical team from Calvisano and the Public Rescue service from Calcinato.
The 52-year-old driver of the truck was unharmed. Firefighters and local police were dispatched to the scene of the accident to manage the emergency, investigate the circumstances of the collision, and regulate traffic along the roadway. Authorities are conducting inquiries to determine the causes that led to this tragic event.
