Alto Garda: New Guidelines to Prevent Assaults Against Healthcare Workers. Recently, the government of the Autonomous Province of Trento approved an important initiative to enhance healthcare security in the sector, addressing a concerning phenomenon that affects healthcare personnel. Following the guidance of Councillor Mario Tonina, new Guidelines for the prevention of assaults have been introduced, aimed at protecting those who work daily in caring for the health of citizens. The councillor emphasized that “the safety of healthcare workers is an absolute priority,” highlighting the need to tackle a growing issue even in Trentino.
The proposed measures include continuous monitoring of incidents of violence and an assessment of security conditions in the most vulnerable areas, such as Emergency Departments and mental health services. Additionally, within the next three months, a Reference and Coordination Center – Aggression Risk Observatory will be established, with the goal of analyzing data on violence and formulating concrete proposals to reduce risk factors. These actions aim to ensure a safer working environment for healthcare workers and improve the quality of care provided to patients.
