In the Alto Mantovano region, the Carabinieri of the Castiglione delle Stiviere Company have revoked 14 driving licenses in a week following targeted road checks aimed at combating drunk driving. These operations were carried out to prevent accidents related to alcohol and drug abuse, with over a dozen drivers caught operating vehicles under impaired conditions.
During the checks, nine drivers were reported for having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding 0.8 g/l, while four others had levels below that but still above the legal limits. Additionally, one individual was reported for driving under the influence of drugs. The penalties for these offenses range from significant fines to license suspensions and potential arrests, underscoring the commitment of law enforcement to road safety.
