Over the past weekend, road checks in the Alto Garda area were intensified. The main objective of these operations was to combat driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, especially in the areas that are most frequented during the evening hours.
Between Saturday and Sunday, numerous roadblocks were set up through the collaboration between the Carabinieri of Arco and Dro and the Inter-municipal Local Police of Alto Garda and Ledro. This deployment allowed for the inspection of 75 vehicles and the identification of 105 individuals.
Tests conducted with the breathalyzer revealed that nine drivers, including two newly licensed drivers, were driving with a blood alcohol level exceeding the legal limits. As a result, their licenses were revoked. Additionally, four of these drivers were criminally charged as their blood alcohol level exceeded 0.8.
Furthermore, four fines were issued for violations of the Highway Code.
