The viral photo has generated numerous critical comments despite explanations provided by the local administration and police. The incident occurred in Bortolotti Square, where the traditional Fair of times past is taking place.
The municipality clarified that the parking lot and the entire historic center have been closed for four days due to safety reasons related to the fair, as determined by a local police ordinance. Access is only allowed for emergency vehicles. The fair, which attracts thousands of visitors each year, has returned after a three-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Despite the official explanations, the online debate continues to be heated.
