The iconic alternative rock band Interpol will perform for the first time on the stage of the Vittoriale Amphitheater in Gardone Riviera, on Tuesday, June 25th. This concert represents the band’s only Italian date as part of the “Tener-a-mente” festival.
The New York-based band, composed of Paul Banks (vocals and guitar), Daniel Kessler (guitar), and Sam Fogarino (drums), has been active since 1998 and has become a milestone in the new wave and alternative rock scene. Their debut album, “Turn On The Bright Lights,” released with Matador Records, received enthusiastic acclaim from music critics.
After their initial success, the band solidified their fame with the album “Antics” in 2004 and continued to garner praise with the third album “Our Love To Admire” in 2007. This album, recorded in New York and produced with Capitol Records, reached high positions in global charts.
Over the years, Interpol has explored various solo projects but reunited in 2010 with a self-titled album followed by a lengthy tour that included opening for U2. In 2012, they celebrated the tenth anniversary of their debut with a deluxe edition of “Turn On The Bright Lights.”
Their fifth album, “El Pintor,” was released in 2014 and is considered one of the band’s most personal works. They subsequently embarked on a tour to celebrate fifteen years since their debut and released the sixth album, “Marauder,” in 2018.
During the 2020 pandemic, band members had to work separately to compose new songs. They reunited in the summer of 2021 in the Catskill Mountains before completing the recordings in London. With co-production by Flood and Alan Moulder (known for their collaborations with Depeche Mode and Nine Inch Nails), they released the album “The Other Side Of Make-Believe” in June 2022.
The gates will open at 8:00 PM, and the concert will start at 9:15 PM. Tickets are still available for the unnumbered side stalls at a cost of €55 plus pre-sale, and standing tickets are €38 plus pre-sale. Tickets can be purchased online on the official website of the Vittoriale Amphitheater.
This event is part of a series of concerts organized as part of the Tener-a-mente Festival, which includes performances by artists such as Kasabian, Dogstar, Glen Hansard, James Arthur, and many others until the end of July.
