A decisive intervention by the Carabinieri took place in Goito, where a 58-year-old man contacted the operations center in Castiglione delle Stiviere expressing suicidal intentions. The call occurred around 9 PM on Monday, March 10, when the man stated: “I want to end it all. I can’t take it anymore,” revealing his deep distress related to loneliness, divorce, and economic difficulties stemming from unemployment.
Thanks to the promptness of the operator, who kept the conversation going for about half an hour, it was possible to locate the 58-year-old despite initial difficulties with the address provided. The Carabinieri from Goito and Monzambano quickly intervened at his home, managing to calm him down and convince him to abandon his intentions. The man was then transported to Mantova Hospital in yellow code for necessary evaluations regarding his mental health.
