Free Entrances and Guided Tours
Sunday, January 5, marks the beginning of the month with free admission for visitors. Guided tours will be available with scheduled departures at 10:10 AM, 11:10 AM, 12:10 PM, and 3:10 PM. The cost for the guided service is 7 euros per person, in addition to the entrance ticket. Reservations can be made via the call center or on the official website.
Extra Opening
On Monday, January 6, there will be an extra opening of the palace, maintaining the usual hours and standard entrance fee. Please note that the Archaeological Museum will be closed on this day.
Artistic Insights
On Tuesday, January 14, and Tuesday, January 28, at 4:30 PM, art historians will guide visitors in a tour dedicated to the figure of Margherita Paleologa, exploring the rooms of the Castello di San Giorgio that housed her chambers. Reservation is mandatory through the infopoint, with limited spots and an entrance fee starting from 5 euros.
Etruscan Exhibition
On Saturday, January 18, guided tours of the exhibition “Along the River. The Etruscan Settlement of Forcello” will take place at 3:30 PM and 5:00 PM. This exhibition showcases artifacts unearthed from the Forcello excavations, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the daily life of the Etruscans about 2500 years ago. Again, reservations are required through the infopoint.
New Ticket Prices
Please be informed that from mid-January, a new experimental pricing scheme for museum entrance tickets will be implemented, adjusted according to the city’s tourist seasonality. From January 14 to March 14, on weekdays (Tuesday to Friday), the full ticket price will be 12 euros instead of 15 euros, while the reduced ticket will be available for 7 euros instead of 9 euros. This initiative represents a favorable opportunity to visit the Palazzo Ducale during a period characterized by lower tourist traffic.
