The water level of Lake Garda reached a record high of +123.5 cm above the hydrometric zero in Peschiera on Sunday, October 20, due to intense autumn rainfall. This marks the first time since 2000 that such a filling has been recorded in mid-October, surpassing the previous record set in 1998 (+124 cm).
Although the situation is currently under control thanks to the regulation of water discharge at 130 cubic meters per second since October 15, experts warn that a new phase of bad weather is expected in the coming weeks. The current meteorological respite is expected to last at least until next Friday, but the evolution of the situation in the Benaco basin remains to be monitored.
