A significant meeting took place on Wednesday, April 9, at the Hotel Villa Rosa in Desenzano del Garda, where merchant associations from the Brescia side gathered to initiate a collaborative effort aimed at enhancing commerce around Lake Garda. Promoted by Confesercenti of Eastern Lombardy, the event saw the participation of representatives from Desenzano, Gardone Riviera, Salò, San Felice del Benaco, Sirmione, and Toscolano Maderno. During the discussions, participants addressed the importance of networking to tackle the current challenges facing traditional commerce and to share best practices.
The speakers highlighted how the Brescia Garda area, with over 8 million annual tourist visits and a significant economic impact on local commerce, represents a valuable resource despite current difficulties. Barbara Quaresmini, President of Confesercenti of Eastern Lombardy, emphasized that only through ongoing dialogue among the various associative realities will it be possible to turn potential into concrete opportunities for local businesses. To ensure the continuity of this initiative, periodic meetings are planned to keep the merchant network established during this first gathering active.
