Lazise, the first municipality in Italy, is preparing to host an extraordinary event to pay tribute to Emperor Otto II. On May 4, 2024, at 9:30 PM, in the charming Park outside the walls, in Via Prà del Principe and Via Rosenheim, there will be a fire show organized by the Compagnia degli Ordallegri.
But that’s not all: the following day, on May 5, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Lazise’s historic center will be transformed into a real medieval encampment. Actors in historical costumes will animate the streets of the town and participate in a historical parade at 11:30 AM and 4:00 PM.
In Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, visitors will also have the opportunity to visit an artistic market where they can admire works created by talented local artists. But the real surprise will be the reading of Emperor Otto II’s “Privilegium,” which will take place at 5:00 PM, also in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, in the presence of the Gruppo Originari and the Mayor of Lazise.
To make the event even more special, attendees will have the opportunity to receive a personalized pass with their name handwritten by a scribe. A unique memento of Emperor Otto II’s important Privilegium.
