The Lombardy Region has allocated new funds to ensure safety on Lake Garda and other lakes in the region. The Regional Council, upon the proposal of the Councilor for Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Franco Lucente, has approved a resolution providing a funding of 242,000 euros to ensure the safety of the lake basins.
Of this amount, 47,000 euros will be allocated to the territory of Lake Garda. The funds will be used for surveillance, intervention, and rescue activities aimed at ensuring the safety of navigation on the regional lakes. These resources are provided annually by the Lombardy Region to the Lake Basin Authorities and the lakeside municipalities of Lake Maggiore, Ceresio, Lario, Iseo, and Garda.
According to Councilor Lucente, this decision demonstrates the continuous support of the Lombardy Region towards the lakes in the area. Compared to the previous year, the funds allocated for this purpose have been increased by 23,000 euros. The goal is to ensure that residents and tourists can enjoy the beauty of the lakes in peace and safety.
Lucente emphasized the importance of surveillance, intervention, and rescue services to ensure the safety of navigation on the lakes. These services are crucial for promoting sustainable mobility and supporting the development of low-impact environmental mobility. The Lombardy Region is committed to promoting the spread of electric mobility and other alternative fuels, in synergy with the Lake Basin Authorities and the relevant entities.
