The commitment of Lonato del Garda in the fight against the proliferation of larvae and mosquitoes in the municipal territory continues. Local authorities are urging citizens to actively participate by adopting simple but effective preventive measures, as these insects can reproduce in both domestic and urban environments, finding fertile ground in stagnant water, even if clean and rich in vegetation.
Prevention is crucial to reduce the presence of mosquitoes. Therefore, citizens are advised to avoid the accumulation of tires and other containers that could collect stagnant water outdoors. It is important not to abandon objects that can hold rainwater and regularly empty saucers or other containers, but without pouring the contents into drains.
Furthermore, it is advisable to avoid water stagnation on tarps used to cover materials or firewood and not to leave watering cans or buckets with the opening facing upwards. Another useful measure is to keep gutters clean to ensure they are not blocked.
Interventions by the Municipal Administration
The Municipal Administration, through the Department of Ecology and Environment, has already started a series of targeted interventions to counter the spread of mosquitoes in public areas. These include larvicidal treatments recognized by the Health Protection Agency, associated with constant monitoring of the situation.
If necessary, adulticidal treatments will also be carried out when certain critical thresholds are reached. In addition to direct actions in public areas, citizens are urged to treat private area drains with specific larvicidal products.
These initiatives are an integral part of the collective effort to ensure a healthier and safer environment for all residents of the municipality. Collaboration between local administration and citizens is essential to achieve lasting results in the fight against mosquitoes.
