The Province of Brescia has given the green light to the executive project for the construction of a new roundabout along the SPBS 668 Lenese, located in the Campagna area, on the border between Lonato del Garda and Montichiari. This step forward also includes the announcement of the tender procedure for the assignment of the works.
The municipal administration of Lonato del Garda has ratified an updated memorandum of understanding with the Province of Brescia, compared to the version approved on September 8, 2022. The project involves a total investment of 750,000 euros, divided among various funding entities: 300,000 euros come from the Lombardy Region as part of the “Interventions Program for Economic Recovery”, 280,000 euros are allocated by the Municipality of Lonato del Garda, and the remaining 170,000 euros are covered by provincial funds.
The construction of the roundabout is a response to the requests of the residents of the Campagna district, who have long been calling for measures to improve the safety of the intersection. The families of Lonato students who attend high schools in Montichiari have also welcomed this initiative, as many young people cross that intersection daily.
Mayor Roberto Tardani expressed great satisfaction with the approval of the project and the start of the tender procedure. “We are very pleased to learn of the approval of the executive project and the announcement of the tender procedure for the construction of this important infrastructure,” said Tardani. He also thanked the President of the Province of Brescia, Emanuele Moraschini, and Provincial Councilor Paolo Fontana for their support in the collaboration.
