Luca Lucini has been appointed as the new artistic director of the Summer Musical Festival of Garda, a historically significant festival held in Salò. His appointment, announced by Mayor Francesco Cagnini and Cultural Councillor Alberto Comini, marks a shift following the direction of Roberto Codazzi, who has been at the helm since 2007. Maestro Lucini, a 53-year-old native of Salò with an international music career, will take charge of the festival starting in 2025, the year in which the festival will celebrate its 66th edition.
The Summer Musical Festival of Garda has deep roots, having been launched in 1958 with a concert by the “La Fenice” Orchestra from Venice. The new municipal administration is counting on Lucini to bring freshness and innovation to the festival while keeping the cultural significance of this summer event alive in the town of Salò. With a solid background and numerous artistic collaborations both in Italy and abroad, Luca Lucini is preparing to tackle this new challenge with the aim of further revitalizing the musical event.
