A new episode of white foam has been reported in the Chiese River in Montichiari over the weekend. The environmental association “Fratello Chiese” documented the presence of the substance, similar to what occurred last May, attributing the foam’s origin to a discharge from the local wastewater treatment plant. Volunteers reported the situation to the Giornale di Brescia, emphasizing that authorities had previously investigated similar phenomena, identifying the foam as composed of natural surfactants.
Concerns regarding the water quality of the river continue to grow among residents and local activists, who fear repercussions on the river’s ecosystem. Reports of whitish foam along the river are not new and draw attention to the issues related to wastewater management in the area. Relevant authorities are now called upon to intervene to ensure environmental safety and prevent future incidents.
