Marco Campagnari, 46, has been discharged from the hospital and transferred to Montorio prison after killing his father, Franco, 67, in Lazise on July 12th. The murder occurred during a family argument over the sale of a house. Marco inflicted numerous stab wounds on his father, severely injuring his hands in the process. After undergoing surgery at the Pederzoli Hospital in Peschiera, he was taken into custody by the Carabinieri.
Campagnari did not answer the magistrate’s questions due to his confused state and severe headache. His lawyer, Massimo Galli Righi, stated that Marco intends to cooperate with the authorities when he is more lucid. The house where the crime took place has been seized for further investigation. According to neighbors and acquaintances, Marco had a turbulent past and personal problems that had complicated family relationships in recent years.
