A 6-year-old child slipped into a canal along the Airone Park Path in Bedizzole, putting his life at risk. The tragedy was averted thanks to the timely intervention of his 14-year-old sister and father, who jumped into the water to rescue him. Unfortunately, they also started experiencing difficulties and were only saved with the help of other people present at the scene.
The incident occurred in the early afternoon last Sunday, during a hot summer day. The child had approached the water to cool off, but his attempt to touch the water almost turned into a tragedy. Fortunately, the quick and courageous actions of the family and others present allowed everyone to be brought safely back to shore.
The fire department, emergency services, and local police from Bedizzole and Calcinato responded to the scene. Despite the fear experienced during the incident and accidentally swallowing some water, none of those involved suffered serious injuries or required hospitalization.
