On Monday evening, with the installation of the city council, Mayor Giovanni Albini began his third term in Gargnano. For the first time, the city council consists of ten members instead of twelve, due to the demographic decline that has reduced the population to below 3,000 inhabitants. This reduction reflects one of the main challenges of the new Administration: to stop and reverse the demographic decline.
The new council includes Marco Mascher as deputy mayor, responsible for tourism, sports, leisure, commerce, and productive activities, while Fabiana Bonomini will take care of social services, education, culture, and the library. Mayor Albini will retain some direct functions, assigning specific responsibilities to council members: Fiorenzo Razzi will manage agriculture and the environment, Marino Piacenza private construction and urban planning, Sebastiano Salvadori civil protection and sports, Marcello Festa social welfare services and culture, and Marco Grizzi public works and management of municipal assets.
