On Saturday, April 12, 2025, the handover of the community gardens in Lonato del Garda took place, an initiative that involves the allocation of cultivable plots of land to residents. Environmental Councillor Cristian Simonetti, accompanied by his colleague Massimo Castellini, met with around twenty-two citizens who benefited from the municipal call for applications, which had a deadline of March 20. During the meeting, the regulations regarding the use of the spaces were outlined, with a specific focus on the water management guidelines and potential issues in the area located in Lonato due.
Councillor Simonetti expressed his satisfaction with the maintenance of the community gardens, highlighting the added value brought by the work of a volunteer, Daniele, who was described as “tireless.” Thanks to his dedication, Simonetti explained, the area is kept in optimal condition.
A significant further development for the urban gardens of Lonato was the expansion of the area, thanks to funding obtained through a call for proposals from the Lombardy Region at the end of 2024. This intervention allowed for the creation of about ten new plots, providing additional cultivation opportunities for an increasing number of residents interested in the initiative in the coming months.
