Gianpaolo Montagni has been elected president of the XIV Zone of the Italian Sailing Federation following the recent electoral assembly. Montagni, who is already a board member of the Circolo Vela Arco and has significant experience as a former president of the Circolo Vela Torbole, succeeds Rodolfo Bergamaschi. His appointment was unanimously welcomed by local associations, which expressed their intention to focus on youth sailing and collaboration among the various sailing entities in the region, which includes the provinces of Bolzano, Trento, Mantova, Verona, and Brescia.
Upon his election, Montagni emphasized his desire to promote a genuine unity within the XIV Zone, without geographical divisions among the different lake areas. The new Board of Directors comprises experienced figures from the Italian sailing scene and aims to actively work towards the development of sailing at all levels, with particular attention to nurturing young talents. The presence of Federal Councillor Domenico Foschini further highlighted the strategic importance of this zone within the Italian Sailing Federation.
