Padenghe: Ongoing Interventions for Hydrogeological Restructuring in the Area. The works for the first phase of the “microtunneling” project on Via Verdi have been completed, with the opening of the second construction site scheduled for September 2025. In recent years, the municipality has faced an increase in flooding due to extreme weather events and the area’s topography. To address these issues, since 2020 the administration has initiated a hydrological-hydraulic study and a multi-year project aimed at reducing flooding and discharges into the lake. The first phase involved the construction of a drainage system that includes three pumping wells, with a total investment of €1,200,000, of which over €800,000 comes from PNRR funds.
The second phase, approved by the municipal council in December 2024 and awarded in January of this year, involves connecting the already completed section with new drainage systems along Via Puccini and Via Barbieri, at a total cost of €1,660,000, also funded by specific regional resources. Preliminary works are nearing completion and will allow construction to begin without disrupting the tourist season, with completion expected by the end of 2026. Once the works are finished, the system will ensure the proper drainage of rainwater towards the lake, thereby contributing to the hydrogeological safety of the area.
