A year ago, thanks to the CREO initiative promoted by BCC del Garda to stimulate and support projects of non-profit associations in its territory, the Board of Directors of the Paritaria School, supported by a dedicated group of volunteers and teachers, set a goal: to provide a new green surface for the garden, which had become dry and reduced to dusty soil, while also renewing the irrigation system and the entrance flowerbed, at no cost to the school.
The operation went so well, thanks to the generosity of companies, members, and individual donors, that it was also possible to purchase equipment, games, cabinets, and corner guards. The volunteers then completed the restyling by repainting the external wooden parts.
A total of 33,560 euros were raised, and the overall expenditure of approximately 21,600 euros for the new garden also included a year of complete maintenance. The remaining approximately 12,000 euros were set aside and earmarked for improvements to the structure, equipment, and teaching, with a commitment not to use them for current expenses.
The detailed report can be viewed on the school’s website at: www.scuolainfanziapadenghe.it/nuovo-giardino-rendicontazione.
This year’s fundraising campaign aims to improve the school’s energy efficiency, particularly by preparing an Energy Diagnosis document and replacing approximately 180 internal and external light fixtures with LED lamps, such as ceiling lights and wall sconces, to reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions. This operation exceeds 20,000 euros in total.
The goal has practically been achieved, but it is still possible to donate by contacting the school administration directly. The hope is to become part of the Renewable Energy Community of Padenghe, to which the school has already joined to self-produce energy.
In this way, it will be possible to speak of a structural intervention that will have an impact on the annual budget of approximately 25,000 euros, a significant saving that will free up resources for the benefit of the children.
“But beyond the economic aspect,” recalls President Angela Persavalli, “the most important feedback has been the attachment to the Infant School demonstrated by the entire community of Padenghe, the commitment of the staff, and the arrival of new volunteers. If what we have always called the Kindergarten is indeed the foundation for raising happy children and future responsible citizens, we can rely on solid foundations, as evidenced by the 124 years of history of Zinelli-Perdoni.”
