A **memorandum of understanding** has recently been approved in **Toscolano Maderno** for the **rehabilitation of the old port**, located on Via Religione, near the former Garda shipyards. This agreement, signed by the council led by Mayor Chiara Chimini and the Basin Authority, outlines an extraordinary **maintenance intervention** with a total investment of 3.4 million euros. The Authority commits to requesting 2.4 million from the Lombardy Region and to contributing one million from regional port fees, thereby ensuring a cost-free operation for the Municipality.
The project aims not only to redevelop the small harbor currently under concession to the Circolo Vela Toscolano Maderno, but also to construct a launching ramp, which is currently lacking in the area. Deputy Mayor Vittoria Goi emphasized the importance of the agreement as a cornerstone for a long-awaited project, promising a comprehensive reorganization of the area that will enhance the efficiency and functionality of the port while maintaining its current features.
