In Polpenazze del Garda, a project for the installation of a **maxi-5G antenna** standing 18 meters tall in a private field on Via Valle has sparked strong **protests from citizens**. The structure, proposed by the company Inwit Spa on behalf of Tim, would be located near the historic church of Villa Avanzi, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. Mayor Maria Rosa Avanzini stated that the administration is actively working to oppose this intervention through a Strategic Environmental Assessment (VAS), involving entities such as Arpa and the Superintendency in the hope of obtaining a negative opinion.
In response to the project, a citizens’ committee has been formed, which will organize a petition drive in Piazza Biolchi on the Sundays of March 30 and April 6, from 8 AM to 12 PM. “We say no to the 18-meter 5G antenna, the eco-monster coming to Polpenazze,” reads the flyer for the initiative. Residents have until April 10 to request the relocation of the antenna to an area further away from homes, expressing concerns about health and the protection of the territory.
