The Museo Alto Garda (MAG) in Riva del Garda is preparing to host a new and fascinating exhibition dedicated to the Renaissance and its influence on the surrounding area of Lake Garda. The exhibition, titled “Renaissance on Lake Garda,” was conceived by Marco Tanzi in collaboration with Vittorio Sgarbi and will offer visitors a journey through the art and history of this flourishing period.
Curated by art historians Luca Gabrielli, Giuseppe Sava, Luca Siracusano, and Marco Tanzi, the exhibition aims to enhance the rich historical and artistic heritage of Alto Garda. This heritage is often preserved in local churches and museums and highlights how the region experienced a period of great cultural ferment during the Renaissance.
The exhibition will bring together artworks from museums and churches in the Trentino, Veneto, and Lombardy regions. This selection offers a unique opportunity to admire great masterpieces representing various artistic forms. Visitors will be able to explore sculptures, paintings, goldsmithing, and textile art, each telling a unique story and testifying to the ingenuity of Renaissance artists.
In addition to presenting artworks of exceptional value, the exhibition also provides an opportunity to delve into the history and culture of the Garda region. The nuances of this culturally vibrant era will be highlighted through an immersive exhibition path. Spectators will be transported to the pulsating heart of a historical period characterized by unparalleled creativity.
The inauguration of the “Renaissance on Lake Garda” exhibition is scheduled for Friday, July 12th at 8:30 PM at MAG. After the official opening, there will be a convivial moment that will allow participants to discuss their impressions of the exhibition in a relaxed setting.
