A couple of German tourists, along with their dog, were rescued on Wednesday, August 9, 2024, off the coast of Rivoltella on Lake Garda after their motorboat suffered a battery failure and was left at the mercy of the waves. The alarm was raised when the driver fired four distress flares, which were spotted by a passerby who immediately contacted emergency services.
The intervention of the firefighters, supported by the Coast Guard and the State Police, allowed for the couple to be rescued before the vessel could capsize or crash. Rescuers located the trio just a few meters from Villa Bober and subsequently towed the motorboat to the port of Desenzano. Fortunately, neither the tourists nor their dog sustained any injuries, and the presence of an ambulance on site was not needed.
