An interesting debate will take place on Wednesday, April 9th at 6 PM at the civic library of Desenzano, located in Villa Brunati, focusing on the proposal to recognize the Lake Garda as a subject of law. This initiative, promoted by local associations and the Club Garda Sud of Soroptimist International Italy, aims to protect the biodiversity of the lake and to ensure the rights of nature, granting its ecosystem a legal personality similar to that of an individual.
Among the scheduled speakers, Cristina Milani from Legambiente will discuss the threats facing the shores of the lake, while Barbara Megetto, president of Legambiente Lombardy Region, will present an analysis of the critical issues and opportunities that have emerged from the monitoring of the lake patrol boat. Finally, Isabella D’Isola from the Gaia Association will explore the reasons why natural entities should acquire such legal personality. Admission is free and open to all interested parties.
