The Jewish Quarter is the theme of a new guided tour organized by the MAG “Museo nella città” in Riva del Garda. The event will take place on Sunday, April 28th from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm and will be led by historian Maria Luisa Crosina.
The tour will start at the museum, which houses the only remaining tombstone from the Jewish cemetery, belonging to Meshullam Cuzzeri. It will then continue to the port area, where the Jewish community resided, in order to reconstruct their presence in the city from 1430 to 1776. The importance of Jacob Marcaria’s printing press, active during the Council of Trent, will also be illustrated.
This initiative offers the opportunity to delve into the history and culture of the Jewish community in Riva del Garda, providing a glimpse into the past and the still present testimonies in the area.
