Two traffic accidents involving two 11-year-old children occurred yesterday afternoon, Friday, April 11, in the Alto Mantovano area. Both boys, riding their bicycles, were struck by cars in separate incidents. The first accident took place around 5:30 PM in Asola, on Via Cremona, where a 26-year-old driver hit a boy of Chinese descent who allegedly emerged from an intersection without yielding to a stop sign. After the intervention of emergency services, the child was airlifted to the Civile Hospital in Brescia, fortunately remaining conscious and not in life-threatening condition.
The second incident occurred in Ceresara around 1 PM, involving another 11-year-old who approached an intersection without yielding and was struck by a vehicle. He was also transported to Poma Hospital in Mantova by rescuers and reportedly did not suffer serious physical injuries. These events once again highlight the importance of road safety, especially for younger individuals using the roads, emphasizing the need for education on proper behavior near intersections.
