Sirmione is preparing for a significant change in the Garda traffic, with the commencement of work on the new Rovizza interchange, scheduled for May. After more than 25 years of waiting and promises, this crucial junction will connect the municipalities of Sirmione, Peschiera, and Pozzolengo, thanks to an investment of 2.4 million euros from the Lombardy Region. The project involves the construction of a 9-meter wide road, complete with a cobblestone roundabout in Pozzolengo, and is expected to be completed in approximately 10 months.
The mayor of Sirmione, Luisa Lavelli, and her counterpart in Pozzolengo, Alex Franzoni, have emphasized the importance of this project, which will not only improve road connections but also enhance user safety. Currently, residents are forced to take complex routes to reach nearby destinations; thus, the completion of the interchange represents a response to the needs of the local community and an opportunity for regional development.
