Between Monday, January 20, and Friday, January 24, safety works were carried out along the Cisano-Lazise promenade, which involved tree pruning and the temporary closure of the section between the Hotel Vela D’Oro and the La Caravella boat storage facility. The municipalities of Lazise and Bardolino announced that, following a technical assessment conducted by an agronomist in November 2023, the necessity to fell 23 mature trees was identified. These specimens exhibited irreparable structural defects or signs of irreversible decay, with some already dead.
Bardolino’s Councilor for Ecology, Simone Corradini, emphasized that this intervention is essential to ensure public safety in a heavily frequented area. In addition to the removal of the compromised trees, targeted pruning is planned to preserve the other plants present. A plan for new plantings in the autumn has also been announced, as this season is considered more suitable for such operations.
