In **San Cipriano**, between **Desenzano** and **Lonato**, three construction sites have been initiated to address the severe **land subsidence** caused by the works for the high-speed train tunnel, a problem that has been reported since 2022. The stabilization operations, which began in October, aim to secure soil that has already been compromised by several landslides in recent months. The expansion of the construction site necessitated the opening of two new sites in the nearby industrial area, with the goal of completing the work by March.
The situation is particularly critical following a drilling incident in January 2022 that resulted in significant land subsidence, causing injuries and a sinkhole 34 meters deep. Despite the injection of over 5 million liters of cement and resins to counteract the collapses, further subsidence has occurred, leading to road closures and infiltration into surrounding lands. The community remains in a constant state of alert due to the ongoing passage of heavy vehicles and equipment involved in emergency operations.
