Salò, the tourist season offers job opportunities: the search for staff begins. As the summer season approaches, set to begin in just over a month, challenges in finding personnel for bars, restaurants, and accommodation facilities are becoming evident. According to a report by Unioncamere, there are expected to be 11,200 hires in the tourism and commerce sector in the Province of Brescia, but 50% of companies anticipate difficulties in finding the required profiles. Currently, there are over 50 open positions in Salò, including bartenders, waiters, and chefs. To address this situation, Salò Promotion has launched a campaign to collect resumes from interested candidates.
The president of the merchants’ association, Andrea Maggioni, emphasized the importance of facilitating the meeting between workers and employers to prevent a reduction in tourist offerings and a decline in service quality. Marco Girardi, president of the Garda Lombardia Tourist Consortium, also highlighted the challenges in finding qualified personnel and providing adequate housing for seasonal workers. Accommodation facilities are seeking creative solutions to retain their staff even during the winter and attract new talent from the Slovak hospitality sector.
