The seventh edition of the Triathlon Sprint Città di Salò is set to take place at Lake Garda, combining sports and territorial enhancement. The event, organized by the Canottieri Garda society, will be held on Sunday, May 26th, and represents a significant event for sports tourism in the region.
The mayor of Salò, Simone Zuin, officially presented the event at the former Monte di Pietà in San Felice del Benaco. Igor Nedrotti, the Sports Councilor of the Municipality of Salò, was also present. This collaboration between the two administrations highlights the importance of the event in promoting the Garda territory.
Mayor Zuin expressed great satisfaction with the organization of the event, stating, “The Triathlon Sprint Città di Salò is an event that we value greatly because it allows us to grow in a strategic sector such as sports tourism, hosting a high-quality event with impeccable organization.” He also thanked Canottieri Garda for their continuous commitment to the local community.
Marco Maroni, president of Canottieri Garda Salò, emphasized the joint efforts required to make the event possible, saying, “Organizing a triathlon is very demanding, and it would be truly impossible to do it without the help of the Municipalities of Salò and San Felice del Benaco, local police forces, the coast guard, the naval section of the Guardia di Finanza, and all the institutions and companies that support us in this endeavor.” Maroni also hinted that in the coming years, the Olympic distance could be introduced in the triathlon, increasing the challenge for both athletes and organizers.
Massimo Ruffini, responsible for the Triathlon section of Canottieri Garda, outlined the three planned routes: swimming, cycling, and running. The race will start at 1 pm with a 750-meter swimming leg at the “spiaggetta delle Rive,” followed by a 20 km cycling leg on a hilly route to San Felice del Benaco via Via Zette. Finally, participants will face a 5 km run through the historic alleys and lakeside promenade of Salò, with varying surfaces of marble and cobblestones.
Several technical sponsors support the 7th Triathlon Città di Salò, including Mata, Synlab, Benaco Energia, Amica Chips, Pastificio Gaetarelli, Fonte Tavina, and Ebranati Frutta. Radio Bruno is participating as the official media partner of the event.
