The community of Salò is united in grief over the passing of Pasquale Maggi, the longtime president of the local scout alumni association, who died at the age of 90. Maggi was a key figure in the regeneration of the San Bartolomeo pine forest, which was devastated by a fire in the 1970s. Along with a group of volunteers, he led a reforestation project that replaced the burned trees with new species.
The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon at 3 PM in the Cathedral of Salò, with the participation of delegations from the scout movement and the Alpini, reflecting the deep respect and affection for Maggi, who dedicated much of his life to the community and nature. In addition to his scouting commitment, Maggi was also a member of the Alpini and served as a municipal councilor in the Civil Protection sector.
