A new project, “Stronger Together: Towards a Social Network of Mutual Support,” has been launched in Salò by ASST Garda, in collaboration with the Fobap ANFFAS Day Center for the Disabled and the Arcobaleno Socio-Educational Center. This program aims to create a support network for parents and family members of individuals with disabilities, addressing the daily challenges these families face. Monthly meetings provide a safe space for sharing experiences and difficulties, facilitating the formation of connections among families and the resources available in the community.
The social services assessor of Salò, Marcella Merigo, emphasized the importance of raising awareness about existing services, while Roberta Chiesa, the general director of ASST Garda, highlighted the need to guide families through the healthcare system. The project aims to build a more inclusive environment that is attentive to the needs of people with disabilities, promoting well-being and growth for both the young individuals and their families. The groups are led by professionals in the field and actively involve local associations to ensure integrated and comprehensive support.
