The M5S has recently invited the builders of the Tav to report to the regional authorities regarding the issues related to the sinkholes in San Cipriano, located between Lonato and Desenzano. Regional councilor Paola Pollini has summoned the extraordinary commissioner Vincenzo Macello and the Cepav Due consortium for a hearing, following collapses and sinkholes that have occurred in the area over the past three years. Currently, three consolidation construction sites are active, initiated to address the issue of soil instability, with investments exceeding 5 million liters of expansive liquid cement.
Pollini pointed out that the interventions carried out so far have not resolved the subsidence issues, referencing recent landslides that occurred in November and September 2023. She has therefore requested a meeting in the regional council to obtain clarifications on the Tav works, particularly regarding the status of the construction sites, additional costs, and completion timelines. The issues raised are connected to the construction of a 4.9 km natural tunnel between Lonato and Desenzano, part of a complex that exceeds 8 km. Despite a formal request for a hearing being sent, no response has been received to date.
