During the Easter holidays, the Carabinieri of Verona intensified their security checks to ensure a safe environment for both residents and tourists. The operation involved approximately 800 military personnel, who conducted nearly 2,000 checks on vehicles and pedestrians in the most crowded areas of the province. In Peschiera, in particular, the Carabinieri monitored the lakeside promenades and the train station, ensuring the tranquility of the local community without reporting any significant issues.
During the operations, arrests and reports were made for various offenses. A 34-year-old North African man was arrested in Verona after attempting to steal goods from a supermarket; meanwhile, in San Bonifacio, a young man was reported for possession of hashish, and another was stopped for driving under the influence. Additionally, three non-EU citizens were arrested in Legnago for drug possession. These actions are part of the ongoing commitment of law enforcement to combat crime and ensure public safety in the Verona province.
