Sirmione: The Local Police Activity Report for 2024 The Municipality of Sirmione has recently published the results of the operations conducted by the Local Police throughout 2024, a year marked by significant efforts to ensure urban safety. The rapid response patrol operated three shifts a day, extending service to 21 hours during summer weekends, supported by the hiring of 8 temporary officers. Under the direction of Commander Mauro Fezzardi, the force consists of 27 personnel who also manage the SUAP office and the ZTL, tackling challenges related to tourism.
Throughout the year, there were 13,562 violations of the Highway Code recorded, with fines exceeding 850,000 euros. The number of checkpoints conducted amounted to 239, with over 2,144 vehicles inspected and fines issued for various infractions. Unfortunately, road safety statistics revealed 63 accidents, including one fatal incident. Additionally, inspections of accommodation facilities were intensified to ensure compliance with current regulations. Mayor Luisa Lavelli and Security Councillor Massimo Padovan emphasized the importance of safety within the community and announced future investments in the surveillance system to further enhance the protection of the area.
