The Cultural Circle of Philately, Numismatics, and Militaria of Salò will host the 6th National Congress of Numismatic Circles on September 28, 2024, at the Sala dei Provveditori, located along the lakeside Zanardelli in Salò. This event is dedicated to enthusiasts of numismatics and will see the participation of scholars and collectors from various Italian circles.
Presentation of the Italian Federation of Numismatic Circles
The event will kick off at 9:15 AM with the opening and welcoming of participants. At 10:00 AM, local authorities will deliver their greetings, followed by the official presentation of the Italian Federation of Numismatic Circles. Meanwhile, accompanying guests will have the opportunity to join a guided tour of the city of Salò, led by Professor Roberto Maggi.
Afternoon Conferences
In the afternoon, starting at 3:30 PM, several conferences will take place at the Circle’s headquarters in Palazzo Fantoni. The first presentation, by Alessio Busseni, will focus on “The Origins of Silver Coinage in the Roman World.” Following this, Franco Pezzi, president of the Philatelic Numismatic Circle of Torri del Benaco, will present two significant numismatic discoveries: “The Treasure of Berengario” and “The Hoard of Torri del Benaco.” Finally, Rolando Mirko Bordin will conclude the series of talks with a presentation on “Metallurgy and Production Techniques of Coins from the Venetian Mint.”
