The Financial Police of Trento has conducted a significant operation against tax evasion in the rental sector, uncovering 25 individuals who had never declared income derived from the rental of properties in the Giudicarie area. The investigation, which began over a year ago, revealed tax evasion exceeding €330,000, thanks to careful economic monitoring and analysis of online listings. The Guardia di Finanza focused their efforts on high-risk tax contracts, particularly concerning rentals intended for temporary workers and tourists.
Between May 2023 and October 2024, irregularities also emerged regarding the payment of registration taxes and tourist taxes, totaling €3,406, with additional penalties of €2,060 related to the failure to report the transfer of property. Furthermore, two properties were discovered to be rented without a contract after being converted into independent housing units; a report was made to the relevant Land Registry Office regarding these cases. This operation underscores the commitment of the Guardia di Finanza in the fight against tax evasion, aimed at protecting the local economy.
