The Palio della Befana kicked off the rowing season this afternoon, Sunday, January 5, in Toscolano Maderno, with an event celebrating fun and tradition. Now in its 26th edition, the event was organized by the local rowing association and took place in the water adjacent to the former equestrian field. The buoys set up marked out a race course for the pursuit heats, reminiscent of track cycling competitions. Approximately twenty crews participated, hailing from various locations, including Gardone Riviera and Peschiera.
The victories were claimed by different crews: in the women’s category, the crew from Garda, consisting of Debora Marucci and Greta Mazzurega, triumphed, while in the mixed category, the “gondolino” from Verona, representing the Cassone crew with Federica Pippa and Nicola Silvestri, took the win. Finally, in the men’s category, the top spot was secured by the gnari of Clusane, represented by Gianluca Cancelli and Marcello Ferrari.
